What we did was go off to the new wilderness (new forest) and camp there for the week in a camp provided by bush craft, we did loads of cool activities and learnt how to survive with no showers, electricity, radiators, TV, computers, phones and junk food. I thought I managed well but I had to have two showers and a massive wash, nail manicure, bath, hair sort out, when I got back. In the week we learnt how to make fire, cook on our fires, learn first aid, purify water, catch animals, make shelters out of logs we found (we slept in ours for two nights! Just logs and leaves!) play crazy field games, not to burn road addendum (Poisonous!N) eat loads, catch/gut/cook and eat rainbow trout and salmon. We did plenty of other stuff but that is the best I can remember.
stupidly we built our shelter right next to the boys, who stupidly sang at the top of thair voices ALL night! (and badly!) |
Another reason why it was so great was the atmosphere, the teachers were human and at a stretch they were actually quite cool. After meals under the parachute around the campfire we would sing cheesy songs which was fun because when everybody joined in it sounded awful but was funny (you won’t believe how many times we sung the lazy song) . At the end of the week we did tribe got talent, our tribe did a bush craft themed catwalk with costumes made of ripped up parachutes and leaves. Me Evy and a friend were hippies and had grass skirts with flowers ex, there was also an army group with guile suites and cameo, a Goth section which used black face cameo around their eyes, a wedding dress (which I helped design) and two boys wore manikins made of leaves and old parachute!
